A Banjo maker and teacher before joining his father's business
 as a weighing machine maker.

Was a private in the 3rd Lanarkshire Volunteer Rifles.

Son of James Ingram, 1820 - 1885,

Married to Margaret Isabella Keigivin Cureton, 1853 - 1937

Born in Ireland -  the son of John Ingram and Maria Earl.

Married Elizabeth Harvey Walker ( 1822 - 1890 )

the daughter of Robert Walker, farmer, ( 1780 - ? )

and  Elizabeth Harvie ( 1785 - ? )

Corporal in the 3rd Lanarkshire Volunteer Rifles.

Was Armourer Sergeant in the Scots Greys stationed in Wiltshire.

Started gunmaking in Glasgow in 1831 at 13 Eglinton Street.
