Todra Gorge

Todra Gorge in the sub-sahara of Morocco

Todra Gorge ( Gorges du Todra ‎) is situated on the remote eastern side of the High Atlas Mountains.

Both the Todra and neighbouring Dades Rivers have carved out cliff-sided canyons ( wadi ) through the mountains.

The final 600 metres of the Todra gorge are the most spectacular as the canyon narrows to a flat stony track

through sheer, smooth-sided, rock walls up to 160m high.

It is an easy hike through the gorge.

There is a reasonably well-maintained asphalt road that leads up the valley from Tinerhir to the gorge.
