![]() Abel Tasman National Park is located at the north end of the South Island
to the north of the valleys of the Takaka and Riwaka Rivers. It is bounded on the north by the waters of Golden Bay and Tasman Bay. The park consists of forested, hill country and is named after Abel Tasman - the first European explorer to sight New Zealand. The Abel Tasman Coast Track is a popular hiking route which follows the coastline. |
