The Burrell Museum The Burrell Collection is an art collection situated in Pollok Country Park on the south side of Glasgow.
The collection was made by Sir William Burrell, a wealthy
industrialist, ship owner and art collector. It was gifted to the city of Glasgow in 1944. |

Country Park Pollok Country Park is a large country park located in the south of Glasgow. In 2007 it was named the best park in Britain. The park was originally part of the former Pollok Estate - the home of the Maxwell family for over 700 years.In 1966, Mrs Anne Maxwell Macdonald gifted the estate, including Pollok House, to Glasgow City Council with the condition that it remained a public park. |

House Pollok House in Pollok Country Park is the ancestral home of the Maxwell family. The house was designed by William Adam and built in 1752. It is considered to be one of the most elegant family homes in Glasgow. It was gifted to the City of Glasgow in 1966 by Mrs Anne Maxwell Macdonald, the Maxwell family having owned the estate for almost 700 years. It is now managed by the National Trust for Scotland and is open to the public. |
